Brazil is the eleventh largest Business to Commercial E-Commerce market in the world and is still one of the fastest growing.
Recently published in the “Brazil B2C E-Commerce market 2014 Report”, it is forecasted that sales of goods in Brazil will top EUR 20 billion by 2018 ensuring Brazil’s status as largest online retail market in Latin America.
Driven by an increase in online shoppers, Brazil stands out amongst other major online retail markets pushed by its popularity of department stores, a high share of clothing purchases and the penetration of luxury buyers in their bid to find high-end items exclusively from the internet.
Around a third of internet users in Brazil shopped online last year influenced by social media and a surge of Mobile internet shopping particularly with young adults has also had a huge effect on m-commerce sales with a reported revenue share of 20% of sales generated through mobile devices in 2014.
Added advantages of online shopping such as free delivery and monthly payment options continue to create significant challenges for competing online merchants whilst making internet shopping more appealing to the Brazilian market.
