Brazil is enjoying consistent growth rates in international visitors averaging 6% yearly over recent years. With the 2014 FIFA Football World Cup and the 2016 Olympics on the horizon, Embratur forecast a significant rise in international visitors over the next 6 years.

Brazil has recently invested heavily into their PAC and PAC 2 programmes. These programmes are vast investments totalling $500bn up to 2014 with a focus on infrastructure such as road and highway expansion, airport expansion, rail and freight and shipping as part of their development in logistics. With investment in telecommunications, energy infrastructure and water provision Brazil are ensuring their can satisfy their need to provide a solid infrastructure for domestic and international visitors.

Brazil receives over 6 million international visitors a year and growing. Given its strategic position in Latin America it is ideally placed taking flights from many Latin American, North American, European, Asian, African and Australasian countries.

The largest Travel and tourism market is in its domestic tourism sector with over 60 million people travelling internally (almost 30% of the population) and a domestic tourist spend of over $30 billion USD.
