TAP inflight magazine to feature Paraíba

July 29 2015

Paraíba is to feature in the October Issue of UP magazine this year, TAP Portugal’s in-flight magazine distributor. It will be the first time Paraíba has featured in the magazine which circulates around 1 million copies through 67 of TAP’s destination countries.

The magazines reporting team landed in João Pessoa on the 24th July and during their 6 day stay will complete the script prepared in order to highlight the natural beauty of Paraíba edge, beyond the good hotel infrastructure and services.

In March last year, Governor Ricardo Coutinho met with directors of TAP Portugal and the Association of Travel Agents to promote the best Destination in Paraíba. “We have trained more than 1,200 travel agents in the cities of Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra and Albufeira so their coming here is the result of a long work,” he said.

The team is scheduled to tour the main beaches along the Southern Coast of the state (Coqueirinho, Tambaba and do Amor amongst others) and will have the opportunity to experience regional cuisine developed by chefs at the Canyon Coqueirinho Restaurant – repeatedly reviewed by Guia Quatro Rodas and TripAdvisor as “one of the most important places in Paraíba ”. They will also visit four hotels in Conde, enjoy food at the well-known Tropicália restaurant (famous for its variety of sea food dishes) and visit the historic towns Bananeiras, Alagoa Grande, Brejo Paraíbano and Campina Grande.

The president of the Tourism Company Paraíbana (PBTur), Ruth Avelino, says “It is important to highlight the support we are receiving from hoteliers and Abrasel Associates. The journalists will publicise the services offered, the variety of food and the quality level of the facilities”

Within the last four years, Paraíba Destinations have also been published in BTL (Lisbon Travel Market), Roadshow and in Exotic Operators Solférias, which are among the largest of the Portugal market.
