A social media campaign by the Brazilian Tourist Board is turning Instagram photos into paintings.
A team of curators from Visit Brazil have come up with an idea that will produce 250 illustrations out of photos with the hash-tag #visitbrazil to then be shipped to the people who posted the image.
The unique campaign will be posted via live feed as part of a larger marketing push.
A new video campaign announced by the board will also produce a point of conversation for international tourists whereby they can talk about their experience in Brazil and discuss their plans to return.
The video is titled ‘always’ and has been released in 4 languages in an effort to attract more tourists and future events.
The US$1 billion company Instagram was launched in 2010 and provides an on-line platform for mobile photo-sharing and video-sharing using social networking services such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Flickr. With over 100 million users as of April 2012, Instagram has become the latest social networking craze across the world.
